Actor Sunil Lahiri as Laxman in Ramanand Sagar’s television serial Ramayana

Sunil Lahri, who appeared in the role of Laxman in Ramanand Sagar’s TV show Ramayan, has lashed out at the makers of Adirpurush. He says that Ramayana has been shown very badly in Adipurush. He has criticized the dialogues and story of the film.Talking to Hindustan Times, he said- “I deliberately saw this film because I didn’t want to say anything without seeing it. I am very disappointed to see. I never thought that such big filmmakers, who have made so many good films, would make something like this. They have made a mockery of Ramayana and our culture.’Adipurush’ has been embroiled in controversies since its release. In the film, Prabhas was seen in the role of Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Mata Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. The film is being trolled because of its story, dialogues, VFX. There was so much controversy over the dialogues of the film that the makers changed the dialogues after its release. Talking about the character of Ravana, he said- “If we forget that Saif was in the character of Ravana and someone else was playing a negative role, then we can say that he has done a good role. We cannot call his character Ravana because Ravana was very intelligent. Saif’s look was not right in the film. He was looking like a Mughal. We could not even understand the difference between Ram and Laxman as both looked alike. Sunil Lahiri said- “If a foreigner had made this film, we would have thought that he had no knowledge of the culture here. But how can our people make such a film. They have made fun of the story, character, language.
