During this, the PM expressed deep sorrow over the Manipur case and said that this incident is shameful for the country. The PM urged all chief ministers to further strengthen the law and order machinery in their respective states.Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh after the video of the women surfaced. Shah has directed the CM to take strict action against those involved in the incident that took place on May 4.Manipur Police has arrested an alleged mastermind of the case of paraded and molested two tribal women naked.4- The Supreme Court has also expressed concern after the video surfaced. A bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud took suo motu cognisance of the matter, terming it “absolutely unacceptable” and directed the Centre and the state government to take immediate steps and inform the apex court about it.5- The central government is in action mode on the incident. The government has asked Twitter and other social media companies to remove videos of women in Manipur. 6- The National Commission for Women (NCW) condemned the Manipur incident. Taking suo motu cognisance of the incident, the NCW asked the Manipur DGP to take appropriate action immediately.There has also been an uproar in Parliament over the Manipur incident. Due to this, the proceedings of Parliament have been postponed till 2 o’clock.On the first day of the monsoon session, several leaders of the Congress and other opposition parties have given adjournment notices in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to discuss Manipur and sought a response from the government.In the Manipur video case, the Congress chief accused the Modi government of turning democracy into a “mobocracy”. The opposition party also urged President Draupadi Murmu to impose President’s rule in Manipur.10- Reactions have also emerged from Bollywood on the incident.
