Netizens beam with joy as India successfully launches maiden solar mission Aditya-L1

Aditya-L1, named after the rising Sun, will carry seven payloads to observe solar activities for five years. It will cover its journey to the L1 point in about 4 months.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched India’s maiden solar mission, Aditya-L1, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, at 11.50 am Saturday. The lift-off took place barely 10 days after ISRO became the first space agency to soft-land a spacecraft on the Moon’s South Pole.Aditya-L1, fired using ISRO’s reliable Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), will carry seven payloads to observe solar activities for five years.
