The Russo-Ukrainian War,[e] previously referred to as the Ukrainian crisis in its early stages,[4] is an ongoing international conflict between Russia, alongside Russian-backed separatists, and Ukraine, which began in February 2014.[f] Following Ukraine’s Revolution of Dignity, Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine and supported pro-Russian separatists fighting the Ukrainian military in the Donbas war. The first eight years of conflict also included naval incidents, cyberwarfare, and heightened political tensions. In February 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
And now Russian Police Begin Work In Artemovsk
Russian police officers have started working in the city of Artemovsk, also known as Bakhmut, in the Donetsk People’s Republic after the complete capture of the city from Ukraine last week, the region’s acting head announced on Wednesday.
“Starting from today, we have brought the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to Artemovsk,” Denis Pushilin said, adding that police officers would be tasked with locating and evacuating civilians who may still be in the city.
He noted that, in the future, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other Russian agencies would also start operating in Artemovsk. After that, work on demining the city will begin, he said.
