UEFA expels Juventus from European competition, fines Chelsea for breaching financial rules.

Juventus were relegated from European competition the following season and Chelsea were fined US$11 million in separate decisions by UEFA over breaches of financial regulations. Juventus’ expulsion from the third-tier Europa Conference League on Friday was expected to be caused by a false accounting case, with the two-time European champions already deducted 10 points in Serie A. That penalty had put Juventus out of the Champions League qualification places.

Fiorentina will get a place-

Juventus’ place in the Europa Conference League must go to Fiorentina in the playoff round starting on 24 August. UEFA said on Friday that Juventus would also have to pay a fine of 10 million euros (US$11 million) for breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. An additional 10 million euros could be deducted if the club fails to comply with UEFA financial monitoring rules in future seasons.

Juventus president Gianluca Ferrero said in a statement on the club’s website that we regret the decision of UEFA’s club financial control body. We are firmly convinced of the validity and validity of our arguments. “However, we have decided not to appeal against this decision. Despite this painful decision, we can now approach the new season by focusing on the field and not on the court.”
