Rajdhani Express ran only on 16 routes in 50 years
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Rajdhani Express was started 50 years ago but it ran on only 16 routes. Similarly the Shatabdi Express is still providing services on 19 routes, even after so many years. Whereas, the Vande Bharat Express on the other hand has started running on 25 routes in just 4 years. Vande Bharat is an indigenously manufactured, semi-high-speed, self-propelled train set. The train has state-of-the-art passenger amenities, providing passengers with a faster, more comfortable, and more convenient travel experience. It was first known as Train 18 and was manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory(ICF) in Chennai. Besides welfare schemes, he highlighted that the country was combining development (vikas) with heritage (virasat) and emphasised that India was establishing new records in digital technology and, at the same time, the dream of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya was being realised after centuries. The Prime Minister was speaking at programmes in Gorakhpur and his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, less than a year before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.Narendra Modi said Soon, Vande Bharat trains will connect one corner of the country to another.
